This thought about “Thinking about My Thoughts” is less philosophical than I would like—I know, that sounds gobbledegook. But I feel the need to write it down. Here goes.
As part of the introduction to the “My Thoughts” page, I wrote:
“Thinking is something I do a lot. Writing those thoughts down is something I only do a little.”
I often wonder why I am not more productive with writing down these thoughts. And this came to mind.
- I have multiple thoughts when I can’t write them down.
- I cannot recall these thoughts when I can write them down.
Therefore, I need to address this. I need to take notes whenever possible. So, what is holding me back?
- I don’t like writing notes in front of people—perhaps a fear of criticism.
- Apart from my phone, I don’t carry the tools to write down my thoughts.
What can I do to overcome any fears?
- Ignore others and just do it!
- Explain what I am doing and why
- If I feel friction as to why I am doing it, ask for a little understanding.
What can I do to overcome the lack of tools?
- Carry a notepad and pen with me everywhere.
- Keep a spare pad and pen in my coat pocket.
- Keep a spare pad and pen in my computer bag.
- Keep a spare pad and pen in the rucksack I use on trips out with the family.
Is this post finished? And will the above help me become more productive? Those immortal words, time will tell, comes to mind.
