Rainy Day Fun at Sky Park Farm (6 August 2024: 6:47 pm)
TL;DR:
The Gist of “Rainy Day Fun at Sky Park Farm”
- Ruth and I took Evie and Maisie to Sky Park Farm, a deer farm near Petersfield.
- The girls love bus rides, even if it is just a short distance.
- It was rainy for most of the day, and most deer were sat away from the edges, leaving only one deer to feed.
- Maisie found a bent stick on the path, turned it into an imaginary fishing rod, and “fished” in a puddle.
- The weather eventually improved, and the deer became more active. Evie to feed a friendly buck, making her day unforgettable.
- Despite the rain, the girls had a great time, and the day was filled with memorable moments like Maisie’s fishing and Evie’s joy in feeding the deer.

Baking Memories: A Sweet Farewell (15 August 2024: 7:21 pm)
TL;DR:
The Gist of “Baking Memories: A Sweet Farewell”
- The girls are leaving for an eleven-day holiday tomorrow; how will I cope?
- They decided to make a birthday cake for their dad, with Ruth helping them through the process.
- Evie carefully cracked the eggs, and both girls took turns mixing the batter and buttercream.
- Watching Evie’s growing independence made me realise how quickly they grew up.
- The cake will be finished once they arrive on holiday, and the components will be kept separate to avoid any travel mishaps.
- Evie and Maisie licked the mixing bowls clean, leaving little need for washing up!

TL;DR:
The Gist of “Catching Up: Reflections on Months of Silence”
- Yet again, it has been many months since my last diary entry.
- I intended to keep up with daily updates but have failed.
- I am now piecing together what I should have written earlier.
- Therefore, any post preceding this one, yet after the 1st of January 2024, has been written retrospectively.
